Tony Borrego
Founder
Tony Borrego is a senior business legal advisor. Tony has practiced corporate law for 20 years, previously was a partner in a LA based boutique investment banking firm and a private equity professional at American Capital, Ltd., a publicly traded private equity firm and global asset manager with over $60 billion in assets under management that was acquired by Ares Capital.
Tony began his legal career at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where over 9 years at the firm he successfully represented many Fortune 500 clients, global private equity firms and other financial institutions in various transactional matters with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, finance transactions and international transactions.
Approaching every client matter with a focus on finding practical solutions, Tony has an impressive track record, advising clients on over 200 transactions with an aggregate transaction value in excess of $15 billion.
Tony serves on the Board of Governors of the California Insurance Guaranty Association which has over $4 billion in assets under management.
Tony has served as a board member, volunteer, advisor and pro bono counsel to many community and not-for-profit organizations, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Women for Women International, National Immigration Law Center, Bet Tzedek Legal Services, California Hispanic Corporate Council, Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center, MALDEF, DC Charter School Board and Disability Rights Legal Center.
Tony is licensed to practice law in the State of California and the District of Columbia. Tony previously held FINRA series 24, 79 and 63 licenses.
